Desde julio de 2020, cuando la industria del turismo comenzó a recuperarse, unas 430 mil personas han visitado Egipto. Este año, solo llegó el 10 por ciento de los turistas del flujo del año pasado, dijeron las autoridades de turismo egipcias.
“Hay viajeros que van a El Cairo y otros a Alejandría, Luxor y Asuán. Pero la mayoría de ellos llega directamente a Sharm el-Sheikh y Hurghada ”, dijeron funcionarios egipcios.
Los funcionarios también destacaron que más de la mitad de los hoteles egipcios han sido certificados y "no hay críticas negativas de los huéspedes".
“El 60% de los hoteles en Egipto han recibido certificados de salud y seguridad después de seguir las regulaciones establecidas por el Ministerio de Turismo. Cumplen con los estándares del Ministerio de Salud de Egipto y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ”, dijeron los funcionarios.
