La iniciativa humanitaria Refugee Air tiene como objetivo llevar a los refugiados sirios de forma segura a Europa. Un portavoz de la organización sueca sin fines de lucro afirmó que el primer avión llevará a los refugiados a Estocolmo antes de que lleguen las primeras nevadas.
Las restricciones legales hicieron imposible que las personas sin visa viajaran en aerolíneas. Para ayudar a reducir las muertes y los viajes riesgosos en manos de contrabandistas, Refugee Air pretende fletar aviones y volarlos desde Siria a Europa. Muchas donaciones, el apoyo del público y la cooperación con ONG ayudarán a realizar este proyecto en un futuro próximo.
